3 tips to let birds in your garden brood

Do you want to offer wild birds a breeding-friendly garden? Then follow these 3 tips:

  • Clean out your nestbox at the end of the winter and hang it in a quiet spot. Pay attention that the nestbox is waterproof and windproof, and that it is hanging high enough, so e.g. cats cannot reach it.
  • Leave natural nesting materials on the ground. Blue tits, for example, make their nests with twigs, moss, little leaves and dog or cat hair.
  • Provide high-protein feed. In spring birds need insects to ingest sufficient proteins. Proteins ensure that the birds lay good eggs and that the young grow up well.
