Testimonies on the breeding and feeding of birds
John Nevill from the Green Islands Foundation on Denis Island at the Seychelles
Denis island is a 143 ha coral sand cay situated to the North of the Seychelles plateau.
Denis Island Development Ltd is working together with the Green Islands Foundation (GIF)
to implement a 5-year environmental management plan for the island.

The magpie robins receive supplementary feed three times a day.
The birds are habituated to feeding from the bowls on the tables.

Green Islands Foundation is delighted with the support received from overseas. Indeed, GIF-work on Denis Island has been recognized by Belgian specialist petfood company Versele-Laga. Versele-Laga produces the special feeds and supplements that we require for the supplementary feed mix. When we placed our order for the two products Orlux Uni patee and NutriBird T16-pellets with Versele-Laga however, on hearing of the nature our work with the Magpie robins they offered to supply our needs for free!
