Specific questions on Nutritional Balance Lamb & Rice all breeds Growth
(art. 433341 = 1 kg, 433342 = 3 kg and 433343 = 15 kg)
In May 2011 we have been confronted with a number of complaints regarding puppies displaying behavioural changes after being fed Bento Kronen Nutritional Balance Lamb & Rice all breeds Growth. In isolated cases, some sensitive puppies suffered from nervous disorders, such as spasms, after a few days.
It has been established that after switching to another feed from our range, the state of health gets back to normal after a couple of days without the puppy being permanently injured. It is important to note that only a limited number of sensitive puppies display these symptoms.
1. What are the observed symptoms?
- With a number of sensitive puppies, temporary nervous and behavioural disorders appear which can sometimes be similar to epilepsy symptoms (including spasms).
- These symptoms are acute and they will go away eventually. When switching to another feed from our range, the state of health will get back to normal after a couple of days.
2. Does my dog have epilepsy now?
- No, he does not. The puppy will display temporary nervous and behavioural disorders, which can be similar to epilepsy attacks. The puppy will not develop permanent epilepsy in case of this feed-related reaction.
