When to use NutriBird handrearing food?

You will not always have the choice of the incubating and feeding method to be used. Various indications will result in opting for handrearing, whether or not after artificial incubation.

  • Poor breeding pairs: experience has shown that some pairs either do not succeed in incubating their eggs or rearing their chicks.

  • Valuable birds: no risk should be taken with parental behavior during the incubation or rearing.

  • Multiple broods: the first series of eggs is often incubated artificially so that several clutches of eggs can be produced in one breeding season.

  • Too many chicks: some species (e.g. Cockatoos) have a natural tendency to rear only 1 or 2 chicks.

  • Big difference of age: smaller chicks can be oppressed by older nest mates (in this case and in the previous one, it is always possible to choose whether to remove the smaller or the larger chicks).

  • Tame birds: for this purpose, in many cases the young chicks will be removed from the nest after only 3 to 4 weeks (the most difficult period).
